Certified Crop Advisor (Agronomist) (F/T)

The Job:

Agrological Solutions Inc. is looking for an Intermediate Agronomist to join our team on the Hi-Line in Montana. Reporting directly to the Senior Agronomist or Agronomy Manager, the successful candidate will be directly responsible for both the office and field work for 3 to 4 clients. This includes but is not limited to: soil / tissue sample collection, field scouting (weeds, insects, disease), data entry, chemical & fertilizer recommendations and mentorship of junior staff. Although training will be provided, this position requires proficiency in field identification skills including insects, plants (weeds & crops) and diseases. Introductory knowledge of soil sampling protocols, variable rate technology and ag-data management would be considered an asset but not a requirement.

Qualifications:

The ideal candidate has completed a Bachelor of Science in a related field (Agronomy, Crop/Plant Science, Environmental Science, Sustainable Agriculture, Horticulture, Soil Science etc) and holds a current membership with the American Society of Agronomy as either a Certified Professional Agronomist (CPAg) or Certified Crop Advisor (CCA).

Candidates must be eligible for employment in the United States, posses a valid drivers license and the ability to drive a Pick-up truck & trailer and ATV/UTV.

Work Experience:

This position requires 3-5 years of direct industry experience. Experience in field scouting row crops for weeds, insects and diseases would be considered an asset for this position.

Junior Agronomist (F/T) or Summer Agronomy Internship (Seasonal)

The Job:

Agrological Solutions Inc. is looking for a Junior Agronomist to join our team in Havre, Montana. Working alongside a Professional Agronomist (P.Ag), the successful candidate will assist with the various day to day duties in both the field and office including but not limited to: soil / tissue sample collection, field scouting (weeds, insects, disease), data entry and customer service. This is meant to be an introduction into the Agronomy consulting industry where you will begin to learn the ins and outs of a very diverse industry and how grower recommendations are developed.

Qualifications:

The ideal candidate has either recently completed or is currently enrolled in a Bachelor of Science in a related field (Agronomy, Crop Science, Environmental Science, Sustainable Agriculture, Horticulture, Soil Science, Plant Science etc). Future membership with the American Society of Agronomy (ASA) would be considered an asset but not a requirement for this position.

Candidates must be eligible for employment in the United States, posses a valid drivers license and the ability to drive a 1-Ton pickup and ATV/UTV.

Work Experience:

This is an entry level position and no formal work experience in the Agriculture industry is required. Completed coursework in Pest Identification (Weeds, Insects, Diseases) or experience in crop scouting would be considered beneficial to this position.
